I want to study about behavior of cracks in structures, I want to learn to simulate them.

It will be of a great help if you could guide me on the books or papers I could read to understand them.

Dear Shabarish

You have raised a good question. It would be helpful to start such endeavor by taking the basic mechanics courses such as, statics, dynamics, strength of materials. Then, you take a course in basic fracture

mechanics, i.e., linear elasticity, non-linear elasticity, and plasticity. Also, you can take a basic course in finite element methods for simulations of the behavior of cracks in structures.
