To have the qualified research center, I'd like to design a robotics research Lab based on MATLAB/SIMULINK software. this Lab is a project based Lab and all students should to do a research project and extract at least 4 papers from projects. So which method do you recommended?

What do you mean by method? Are you trying to find out how to build a lab or what types of problems to solve? It wasn't clear and the answers would be very different. Can you elaborate a bit more? I think you first have to start based on what equipment you have or want to purchase.

Thanks for your response. I'd like to build a lab for undergraduate/graduate researchers who attend in Project Based Learning Center. But this Lab should to work based on MATLAB software. so I'd like to know about your idea. for example you think it's better at the first step defined a project to manipulate identification and in second step defined a project to modelling and implementation and in 3rd step defined a project to control of robot based on conventional and intelligent method and in final steps they should to defined a new methodology to control it (like a PhD thesis). This is my idea, what do you think about this idea.

I'm trying to find a document I created that could help you answer your specific questions. Once I find it I will send it to you. In my opinion the way to go about it is to first decide on the technology you want to use. You want to use Matlab and Simulink. I also recommend National Instruments products based on LabView. They are really nice to work with and LabView has control and system identification toolboxes. I recommend the NI-ELVIS bundle. The nice thing about NI-ELVIS is that they have control modules for various purposes, You can use these to do system identification and then design the controller. Of course you could do the same with other third party products. There are a lot of nice little "do it yourself" projects like controlling the growth of a plant (a real life plant such as a beanstalk). The inputs are light and water and the outputs is height. An electronic nose is another example. I will send you the document when I find it.
