Considering a broad absorbing material like perovskite sandwiched between a N-type and P-type, how would the absorber band structure look like for 100 % efficiency.
this is not possible for single material
if we have a material with low band gap it will absorb light frequency of large wavelength if we have material of large bandgap then it will absorb light frequency of less wavelength so we cannot design a single layer material with all band gaps but we can
make hetrojunction solar cells or multi layer solar cells with different band gaps materials
It would be difficult with a single material, but possible using a mixture of materials.
In some solid state materials, bandgap can be tuned to certain extent by band gap engineering methods.
