I was separately performing adsorption of terpene gas and methanol on transition metal oxide nanocluster using DFT. I observed a large difference in charge transfer between two gases and metal oxide surfaces. I wish to develop a capacitive sensor for the detection of a particular gas among different gases. I want to know if the difference in charge densities will cause any change in capacitance or the dielectric constant (between metal oxide surface before and after adsorption)?
