How were SiQDs formed from APTES or APTMS by the reduction method?

When the APTMS or APTES were used as silicon source for the synthesis of SiQDs using reducing agents what happens to the silicon source. Can anyone briefly tell me what is the reaction mechanism involved in the SiQDs formation from APTES or APTMS.
