Students in secondary school need to learn to listen again to develop the skills of the 21ste century. I believe that we can use music as a new method to learn to listen again as a preparation to the development of the 21ste century skills. I know in teaching we use clips from our indigenous art form, Calypso, to stimulate students' critical thinking about issues in education. They listen to the messages in the chosen calypsoes and analyse their meanings in relation to the course topic.

Yes , music can be used to develop communication skills , particularly listening skills. Learners enjoy listening to the music. The songs can make them develop interest in the foreign language.
