As there is currently a high demand for digital health services to replace existing face-to-face health care in many areas of medicine. I wanted to start a discussion about researchers' experiences of doing this individually, and of the research base that might offer examples of best practice.

Questions to consider:

  • What are the principles for moving a face-to-face service online in medicine?
  • What research had been conducted in this area?
  • Are there any generic frameworks or guidance around how to transition a face-to-face intervention online?

All responses are welcome.

So far, in the UK, I would recommendation guidance from Trisha Greenhalgh who has produced a paper about video consultation, including a very useful decision-making tool. https://www.bmj.com/content/368/bmj.m1182
