How to take fluorescense of Europium if the excitation at 300nm and emission at 600nm ?

We have developed europium doped nanoparticles, we are able to see the red color emission when excited at 300 nm UV lamp (powder form). But we are unable to see the spectrum when excited with 300 nm. We could see only second harmonic peak from the particles suspended in water.
