Where is the figure that you mentioned?

Anyhow, I recommend to read the section "6-9. Scattering by Spheres" of the book "Time-Harmonic Electromagnetic Fields" from Roger F. Harrington and maybe some good MATLAB introduction like "Applied Numerical Methods Using MATLAB" from Won Y. Yang or "Numerical Methods Using MATLAB" from John H. Mathews and Kurtis D. Fink.
