I am planning on interviewing women to get their experiences of health care and analysing it from a social constructionist epistemology. I then want to examine whether the women's constructed experiences reflect human rights frameworks and through-care principles. It has been brought to my attention that the latter is a more positivist approach.
I am just looking for some leads on any articles, etc that might have cropped up in your travels.
Maybe deconstruct the human rights frameworks and construct again parallel to the women's experiences, and see if they match?
And btw, why only women?
It seems to me that you are simply asking two different research questions: how do women perceive their experiences of health care, and how do their descriptions compare to existing standards. The first involves a more inductive approach to coding your data, while the second would apply a more deductive approach using existing frameworks.
An contrast, a positivist belief system would imply that there is a real world outside your own understanding, and that you would be testing hypotheses to determine the nature of that real world. Merely comparing participants' statements to other frameworks does not make any such claims.
I suggest you look at Braun & Clarke's (2006) work on thematic analysis, which explicitly accepts both inductive and deductive approach to coding.

Thank you all your comments are extemely helpful. I am only researching women at this stage within the criminal justice system and the focus is on women's health care experiences in relation to incarceration. Future research will hopefully move into the male experiences as well.
