In order to improve the adhesion of ECO rubber and PVA film dynamically, i need to reduce the viscosity of the solution. Is there any additives to use as crosslinking agents to make the adhesion better with the same viscosity? any suggestions please?
I think you need to lower the surface tension to aid wetting not necessarily the viscosity.
You can increase the temperature of the processing. In this way the viscosity and the surface tension will be simultaneously decreased. Another approach is to take PVA with lower molecular weight. If your solution has non-Newtonian property processing at higher shear rate will result in low effective viscosity and thinner film.

The molecular weight of the PVA I use (Exceval from Kuraray 97,5-99 Degree of hydrolysis) is 130,000 g/mol. The problem is the cosolvent ( solvent: water)I'm using ISOPROPANOL has a maximum tempreture of use 80°C. Do you know another cosolvent or a surfactant that can be added to the formulation please? what do you think about the borax as crosslinking agent (problem of viscosity?)?
