Want to quantify the small fire in grassland, I am performing seasonal change in wetland where people usually fire the grassland for various reasons in a particular season. During my field visit the smoke and fire was seen at a distance, while working on the satellite image I found tiny portion colored with red color (combining the satellite image to true color), that's fire for-sure. How can I quantify it? I have also attached the satellite image.
If this is the only fire whose area that you want to quantify, given the size of it, you can simply import the image into a GIS/Remote Sensing Software, manually draw a polygon around it, and calculate the area of the polygon. If you have multiple fires, spanning large areas, then of course you'll have to use a conventional classification algorithm, or if you know your way around machine learning algorithms, one of those.
