Hello everybody,
I'm using Johnson-Cook plasticity model along with Johnson-Cook damage in ABAQUS to analyze fracture of a plate, subjected to high velocity impact. the problem is when an element fails, it extremely distorts, instead of being deleted or moved. I can remove the distorted elements in visualization module but don't think that this is the right solution. by the way, I have activated the element deletion option in mesh module. how should I resolve this problem?

I managed to resolve the problem, and if anyone would have the same problem, here is the solution:
in addition to selecting the element deletion option in mesh module, in field output (in step module), under the "state/field/user/time", select "STATUS" output.
