How to cut the powders from a bulk metallic sample?
What machine can be applied to control the powder size?
(1) If the bulk metallic sample is ducticle, you can use lathe machine to cut the chip from it and grind it into powder.
(2) If the bulk metallic sample is brittle, you can crush it directly by metallic mortar.
I think your sample would be ductile. If you need a small amount, you can use iron wire to bind 5~10 pieces of long saw blades together and sawing your bulk samples to obtain fine powder. If you don't like residual strain inside, you need to annealing the powder in vacuum at around or above recrystallization temperature.
As the high pressure experiments by diamond cell require very samll sample, you may use FIB to cut the samples or just cut it from thin foils (thinning by various techniques).
