You may predict soil erosion by measure sediment concentration in water. In most cases soil erosion by water is conected with surface run-off.
I recomend you scenario option and land-use in SWAT model - Soil & Water Assessment Tool.

You can adopt the use of GIS to obtain data that will be helpful in modelling and prediction, you can also calculate the present soil loss and the slope gradient.
There are two options for prediction, one is the use of artificial neural network and the other is finding the soil loss and slope characteristics.
