Hello,

I am trying to recreate some of the experiments from this paper, Article Evaluation of the Behavior of Uranium Peroxocarbonate Comple...

, and I am unsure how they perform their Raman measurements. Specifically, "The sample solution of 0.2 mL was put into a capillary quartz tube (inner diameter 1.6 mm, outer diameter 3.3 mm, and length 100 mm), and the backscattered light from the sample was collected into an optical fiber". I have read some other posts here that talk about SERS with capillary tubes, but to my understanding they didn't use SERS in this work. I also saw a similar posts asking about using microscopy slides with solution between a slide and slide cover, and may people suggested that this was a bad idea as there isn't really any way to focus the beam onto the solution. If anybody has any recommendations or suggestions to help me better understand their procedures and sample prep it would be much appreciated.
