I performed many CV experiments with layers deposited on conductive ITO films. It is necessary to have at least part of the conductive layer not covered by metal oxide. This part I contacted by gold plate and sealed by laminating foil (exactly that foil, which is used to laminate paper) using simply iron for ironing. It works for water as well as for many organic solvents. Only if you use organic solvents with low surface tension and low viscosity like dichloromethane, the solvent can easily get into gold plate and the experiment is worthless. Later I can attach picture as well but I dont have it available at the moment but you can have a look to the article, where this setup was used for conductive polymers.
