I am working on a solar project.I have started simulation of grid connected pv system.First I have simulated individual modules PV, Boost Converter and multilevel inverter and their outputs are fine according to my calculation. When i tried to connect the boost converter and multilevel inverter output is distorted and the dc link voltage waveform is also not correct. Can anyone help me how to overcome this problem.
you should implement a voltage balancing control on the multilevel inverter using redundant states, too. you can read my papers on IEEE
Also, in the design, the other part should not be considered ideal. Like, when you do your modulation of inverter, you should take the actual DC bus voltage into consideration instead of using the constant value you'd like to have, this may reduce the distortion. However, you should implement the voltage balancing algorithm for the system. This is kind of a must for such system.
I think this problem arises in Diode clamped MLI with more than 3 levels. You should use any PI-controller for maintaining DC link voltage constant and then with the help of balancing circuit connected to DC link, you can balance the voltage across each capacitor.
