I want to ask experimental setup of synthesis of covalent organic frameworks(COF).
In some literature they put all component in "pyrex tube" and apply freeze pump thaw cycle and heated upto certain temperature(120oC).
my questions are
1. what is the pyrex tube exactly and how to cap tightly
2. how to heat pyrex tube?
oven ? silicon oil with hot plate?
3. do we need stirring with magnetic bar? or just keep stayed?
if you have a experience of COF synthesis please give me the answers.
1) The pyrex tube is a glass tube. and is closed by flame.
2) you can either use heating oven or oil bath. both are fine. heating oven is preffered.
3) stirring or without stirring it depends on Cof. mostly no stirring. you can use either sonication or stirring to get homogeneous dispersion in start but after closing the tube. stirring not needed in most of the cases.
