For the past of 20 years, I am literally tired of hearing that India is a developing country. When it can become a developed one? I came to know, from OECD reports, that India just some centuries back was contributing 35 % of World's GDP. Is it no way possible for India to reclaim its lost glory? Yes, in the present context of geopolitics - the US needs to play the leadership role to balance power across regions. But, can India at least rise up to the most recent success stories of Japan and South Korea? And more importantly, in what areas/ aspects the contemporary and budding social scientists (particularly read: economists) should focus on in order to contribute to this magnanimous goal?
