Hi, You need to create two separate parts. Add both of them on assembly module and after that You should create interaction properties. See Abaqus help.

generally, Abaqus offere some types of interface , eg. tie constraint is used if there is no slip between layer. or you can go to interaction to creat general contact and creat contavt properities

The doubt is that while creating interaction property, is the friction coefficient that we get under "penalty" of "tangential behavior" based on Coulomb friction model ?
