I am working on an alluvial diamond mine. The particle reduction process is through blasting. Blasting has really affected the diamonds quality and cost due to high breakages between 40-60%. The breakage % is inclusive of blasting and crushing. Is there any better method to minimise the breakage of the product. I understand there is a scanning method used by some mines in Botswana.

Any ideas to minimise the breakages?
