I need to measure Total S for the sludge particles of my reactor? Can anyone give me some suggestions for doing that? I have looked in to the standard method, but it doesn't explain anything on measuring sulfate/sulfide for solid particles. My samples is mainly slurry (solid with water), mostly contain inorganic material (iron sulfide) and some biomass.
A fairly approximate analysis consists in carrying out studies of polished sections, that is, you must homogenize your sludge to analyze very well. Then by means of counting points that is made in an optical microscope of reflected light. Today we use software that counts the color of pixels that is much less tiring, both manuel and software are quite useful. Remember the homogeinization, it is fundamental. luck
