Hello, I am trying to measure Acetone exposure amount to the sensor. I used to blow air through acetone and pass the air into a flowmeter which gives reading in cc/Min. and then the output air exposes on the sensor. I have IV curve before and after exposing. Now my question is I need to know how much ppm or acetone is in the exposing where air and its pollutants is present. Any suggestion?
first, you need caliberate the sensor, then you must know the exact volume fraction between the air and the Acetone ,and you can calculate the volume fraction according to the flowmeter.
Say you have 500 ppm of acetone in bottle and flow rate of carrier gas is 100 cc/min, then if acetone flow rate is 10 cc/min..it will correspond to 50 ppm of acetone and air flow rate is 90 cc/min..it will correspond to 450 ppm.
Thanks for your suggestion, I have question to Mr. Vimal I am not flowing acetone actually, the things is I just flow the air through the acetone (liquid phase) while the air is coming out it contains some acetone molecule with it. Now I think calculation is changing? Am I right?
Ok.I got you. According to me , Mr. Cui is correct..you need to caliberate the sensor to get the exact fraction of acetone molecules in the air. If you have proper measuring equipment and gas chamber , it is possible to measure the ppm concentration of the acetone in the air with the help of flowmeter using the above approach as I have mentioned above.
