i have a question about Collinearity and Variance Inflation Factor (VIF). I am working on a new research project and I will be examining the relationship between Categorical (nominal scaled) INDEPENDENT variables (sex, age and regionality) and phonological change. Multicollinearity issue was discussed in many books (Tagliamonte, 2012;  Statistics for Linguists: A Step-by-Step Guide for Novices by David Eddington). Yet, all I read pertains to the link between CONTINUOUS INDEPENDENT variables. in this case, we can test the VIF using Faraway package in R-studio.

But, what about logistic regression models with CATEGORICAL independent variables. Is Multicollinearity  most likely to occur? should I be worried about it?   and if yes, which test(s) should be used measure it?
