I have an activated carbon sample for which I want to measure absorption and transmission, reflection spectra from UV-VIs-NIR spectrometer in the solar spectrum. The equipment has cuvettes for transparent liquids, and some have solid measurement holders. How is the sample preparation done for this activated carbon. It is black and opaque, and is porous and macro-sized (a few millimeters in size). Can it be used as is or should it be crushed to very fine powder size. Any help on this is highly appreciated. Thank you.
