Does anyone know an automatic way of matching scale bars on images taken under different acquisition settings? Obviously the images have been saved with their matadata but the scale bar drawn (e.g. 50um) is longer on one image and slightly shorter on the other one. I know I can manually match them up but I feel they might be more accurate automatic way, however I am failing to find this option in Fiji/ImageJ. How do people match their images scale bars? Btw. I know it is not essential to do it, but I find that visually more pleasing.
As you said, the scale information is in the metadata. Use it: divide one scale by the other, and use the result for up-sampling the image with lowest resolution. Use a cubic spline or better interpolator for that.
