The storage tank volume can be somewhat between 0.3 to 0.5 cubic meters (no specific shape requirement) and preferably of a closed type apart from the water flow area from or into the tank in the closed system to avoid excessive sand or dust entry from the ambiance.
The temperature of the water can be maintained through the development of manual cooling tower made of straw fins around the open tank, PV power can be used for operating fan.
OR it can be cooled through using fire clay tanks, by storing water and passing it through series of fire clay tanks.
Geothermal in not feasible, it is hard to find the geothermal source in the desert, luckily if found that needs the pumping power.
Put the tank underground. Desert temperatures much below ground level are quite stable and around 25C.
