I am a fresher in research field. For my research work I have to use Quantum Espresso. It will be helpful for me if anyone can suggest me about this package. Thanks in advance.
It is important to get a general feel of everything first (assuming you are self studying without any outside help).
I assume the in the first part of learning, you have no idea of what you want to achieve. The youtuber shows you what you can achieve with quantum espresso.
Also, if you dont have a supercomputer access, this youtuber also shows how to compile QE in your PC.
Disclaimer: General PC are only ok for small calculations (like in exercises/tutorials).
2. Go through and follow quantum espresso tutorial PDFs
This step is really important as it introduces a lot of input syntax and procedures. I do suggest to watch the youtube tutorials first before directly going for PDFs. This PDFs require some introductory knowledge on QE and it is much faster to learn if you know what you are asking for.
3. Explore and exercise on Energy calculation and Structure optimization (via by hand and automated) first.
This is the ideal introductory exercise for QE since there are not a lot of post-processing analysis involved. Once you get a little familiar with this, you go ahead and try some more complex calculations like band structure and Density of states calculations. For these complex calculations, I'd suggest having some of your seniors/prof to show you the process.
4. Find some publications/textbooks and learn how to interpret your data
Run materials modeling online - Quantum ESPRESSO in the cloud
Easy-to-use, collaborative online platform. Command-line, python API access for experts. Run simulations with Quantum ESPRESSO, LAMMPS, GROMACS + more. More science...
First of all, you should know that Quantum ESPRESSO is a free software and like most of free softwares, it lacks a good user manual. Depending on what you want to do, you can google it and find your way.
