hi, in the case of OPC type 1 we assume 95-99% curing under standard curing conditions. The compressive strength will give you an idea about the curing and mechanical performance however it is possible to have durability issues ( under non-standard curing) with good 28th-day strength.

Internal curing was originally defined by the American Concrete Institute (ACI) as supplying water throughout a freshly placed cementitious mixture using reservoirs, via pre-wetted lightweight aggregates, that readily release water as needed for hydration or to replace moisture lost due to evaporation or self-desiccation. Internal curing is maturing as a technology, and its use is increasing because it provides excellent opportunities for a strong concrete structure. Some advantages of internal curing are in terms of reducing the possibility of cracking. Internal curing provides something that most concrete requires but that conventional curing cannot: additional internal water that helps prevent early age shrinkage (reducing early age cracking) and increases cementitious material hydration throughout the concrete. Internal curing does not replace conventional surface curing but rather complements it by making concrete more durable. Internal curing can also compensate for less-than-ideal weather conditions and poor conventional curing, which are common in the real world.
In addition to compressive strength, measurement of autogenous shrinkage and assessment of time to cracking in a shrinkage ring test are other ways to quantify the performance of concrete with internal curing. One may also observe improvements in transport properties such as sorptivity and measured diffusion coefficients (and permeabilities), due to both the improved hydration and the improved interfacial transition zone produced between LWA and hydrating cement paste.
While several ways of testing are available such as compressive strength in different ages, the best way to ensure this is to cure concrete made with Portland cement in a moist environment.
