I think the only way to take a fault (short- or open-circuit) into account is to build your own half bridge with elementary block (MOSFETs, IGBTs, tec.), and open or short the components with circuit breakers. An alternative could be setting snubber resistance to zero and capacitance to infinity, but in this case you loose control of the fault instant.
