I am planning an industrial hemp fiber trial in a newly legal state and am staring with very small plots around 2'x3' in area. I will be looking at fiber yields and am curious how other researchers have harvested and measured their crops. Did you use a research combine, sickle bar mower, hedge trimmer, etc.?
Also, what other measurements did you take? I am thinking about wet weight and dry weight, as well as stand counts. Lastly, do you have any ideas about how to measure fiber content (I will not have access to a processor or decorticator)?
