I have a steel container which will be at high temperature (600-700C).
I would like to seal it in vacuum, but want to have a small glass window on it as well.
How could I have the glass stick to steel?
If I use threading (can this be done? or is there a better solution?), how can I seal it so that no air enters the container. Can I fill the threads with some paste type material which can survive at 700C?

You may need an intermediate glass as a solder (or braze). It's depend on the composition of glass window. Also you can weld the steel to a kovar alloy and then prepare a kovar-glass seal.
