dbz and mdbz are diagnostic varibles which we can get from ARW post. It is working fine for WRF runs but when i am trying to get dbz and mdbz from WRF_Chem output ARW post is not giving these values. I am using same physics in both WRF and WRF_Chem runs. can any one please help me to solve this problem.
if the WRF is using a bin resolving microphysical scheme, then you need to calculate reflectivity yourself based on definition of Ze (dBZ)=10logZ where Z=D^6Nd [mm6m3]. If it is for ice particles then Zei=A*Ze; A is function of Kw, Ki, rhoi,rhow.
If not a bin scheme, then you need to calculate based on parameterizations e.g.
Z=f(LWC,D) or similar. These are available in the literature.
I did not apply this myself for WRF but it can be done similar way shown here.
