We in my home town is flooded with paper and cardboard waste.I need to recycle with minimum space and investment..to make some usefull product...i need crowd funding and technology...may i have your guidence please...?
The first question is, what are the infrastructure elements already there? What do you need to buy?
- Paper industry ready to recycle - without that, the project is not feasible, a paper plant costs too much,
- Selective collection bins for the citizens,
- Selective collection containers for the businesses,
- Paper (selective waste) collecting trucks,
- Collection station for final selection, bale, and upload to larger trucks,
- Larger trucks.
a.) Cardboard and paper recycling makes sense for a business, it is economic if the paper collected selectively. From that perspective, you need to estimate the volume of the paper collected by types (white, color, cardboard) by bin type (small bin or container) and have a pre-contracted industrial partner to collect and recycle. Then, you can go for crowd funding of bins and containers.
b.) It looks easier to ask a fee for the selectively collected paper from the collecting/recycling company and show to the local government the business case, where the bins and containers are the investment (potentially the collecting trucks and the collection station), and the sold paper is the revenue. I am happy to assist to create the business case and present it.
It is not feasible to build a paper plant for recycling.
The other way is the use for power and heat production, but the paper is not an ideal candidate. Advantage, shorter supply chain, direct use on site, other wastes can be handled together.
Paper and cardboard recycling are the most convenient and practiced recycled products in many countries worldwide.
However, to get funds for their sustainable management or recycling requires to highlight their economic benefits, job opportunities in rural areas and environmental benefits, especially in the developing countries. As a matter of fact, the expectations should be to get small funding from small scale industries or enterprises. The governments wouldn't fund until they have their own interest or policy in place or pressure from international organizations to clean and manage waste in a sustainable manner.
