I have a R&S®NRP-Z81 Wideband Power Sensor which measureses the electric field strength and I want to combined this with location of a gps and log and display the data on a PC.
How can this be done using arduino raspberry pie.
So that I can get on a raspberry pi or arduino display in x,y direction the position and iny direction the measured fields strength
You needs USB-driver for communication with Rpi-OS. I don't sure if it exists :-(
The task is more simple in case of RS-232 intreface.
Any USB-driver for any OS needs a loot of memory. Arduino has insufficientl amount of memory. Arduino has external USB-RS232 converter (on external chip CH340) or internal software USB-RS232 converter (not popular solution).
More essential is the necessity of open USB-driver source documentetion for R&S®NRP-Z81. This needs for translation USB-driver to any OS.
R&S®NRP-Z81 has Windows (Mac-OS) software shell with specific script language. It is possible (maybe) to insert GPS data to this shell by that script language. This is a most simple solution - the notebook with Windows OS. The Rpi and (especially) Arduino are not realistic attempts.
