These days , I wana get a gene from the rice, while I have no experience about plant before. So, I want to know how I make that. I know I can get the plant and extract the RNA, get the cDNA . Then Just design the primer and do the PCR. However, it seems a little time-wasting for me, for I do not mainly focus on the plant. So I wonder if I can just buy the rice cDNA library from the company , and I use it as my template to do the PCR. If so, any company suggested ? And I also want to know what's the form of the cDNA library. In the plasmid ? E.coli.? or just cDNA mixture ? Anyone buy that before ? I appreciate it so much if you can fix my problem.

There are several companies where you can buy DNA sequences. In my experience I have obtained human ORFs inserted in a vector (Gateway donor vector), and they were delivered as a glycerol stock in E.coli. But, I did this ordering only because I needed them for gateway cloning (so for me it was also important the vector that contained my ORFs). But honestly, If you are going to perform the PCR on a cDNA template (and design the primers) anyway for your downstream experiment, as I read in you post, then I do not see how extracting the RNA and do the cDNA synthesis could be a waste of time. Normally, both procedures together should be performed in less than one day, which is less than the time that normally take until you get the commercial ones.
