In RPL -routing protocol for LLNs- if we have 2 nodes A and B, we say that node A is in the transmission range of node B if A receives DIO message from B, and we also could say that B is in the transmission range of A if B receives A's DIO. So, we conclude that both nodes are in each other transmission range. My question is could the ETX of the link between two nodes be an indicator if they are in the transmission range of each other? is there any other way?
