Ethyl acetate or hexane would work well for this. I believe both would extract the oligomers thoroughly, but hexane would be more aggressive (not sure if that would be favorable or not). Both solvents could then be analyzed directly by GC/MS. Polyolefinss oftenhave a large number of these hydrocarbon oligomers, so do you have any specific targets? or just the total oligomer mass that can be extracted?
