Hi all:

To my knowledge, juglone (5-hydroxy-1,4-naphthoquinone) is a natural product with confirmed anticancer and antibacterial activity. My study is to reveal the antibacterial mechanism of action of juglone using a proteomic method. But, some papers have reported its mutagenic and tumorigenic effects so it seems contradictory. My question is how to argue the antibiotic potential outweighs the carcinogenic risks. If anybody know it please tell me. Thanks in advanced!
