Its not clear about this question that how we can doped Cr in ZnSe by means of Chromium powder or CrSe powder. I want to grow Cr:ZnSe with various proportion of Cr in ZnSe to study the effect of Cr doping in optical properties. My doubt is only that should I use Chromium powder or CrSe powder for doping of Chromium in ZnSe? I have also question that how can we identify the dopind proportion of Cr in ZnSe?
If you want obtain ZnSe dopped with Cr, I suggest a series of experiments. First, obtain ZnSe and after anneal the obtained samples in a closed ampoule with CrSe powder and a temperature gradient between the ZnSe sample and the CrSe powder. You will have several experimental parameters: gradient temperature, annealing time, distance between ZnSe and CrSe. The presence of Cr in the ZnSe can be obtained by x-ray diffraction (measurement of the lattice parameters but it is possible than these values do not change vary much), measurement of the stoichimetry by spectrofluorescence (but the experimental error must be of the order of 10% at least), magnetic susceptibility (ZnSe is diamagnetic and if Cr is present the magnetic behavior must changed to antiferromagnetic, but be carefully with the presence of indesiderable Cr binary phases).
