Now, the radius and high of 100mL measuring cylinder and he mass of power biochar were known. It is need the true density of powder biochar to calculate V2. However, what method can used to determine the true density of powder biochar?

Helium pycnometry remains the best option, and the most accurate. Be careful however to carry out the experiment at a temperature higher than room temperature. Otherwise, helium may adsorb on the solid, especially in the case of high surface area. Although the amount adsorbed is low, it can significantly increase the measured value of true density. As an example, it is not rare finding values higher than 2.2 g/cm3 (and up to 2.5) in activated carbons investigated without paying attention to helium adsorption.
