I would like to consult if anyone has done experiments to determine the juvenile hormone titers in insects. What methods can be measured? I have seen someone determine by HPLC, in this case, should the whole worm be taken as a test sample or only the hemolymph? I have not done similar experiment before, and the operation and details of the experiment are not very clear, so I would like to ask for advice.
I did my PH.D. work on juvenoids and JH analogues. Then, I undergone training under Prof. Hiruma Akai on silkworm artificial diet. During the discussion in training, Prof. AKai told me that he measured JH titre in silk worm, Bombyx mori in collaboration with Dr. Rembold in Max Plank Institute of Biochemistry, Germany.
