I am trying to create a database for Bangla digits like MNIST so that anyone can use this database with code they use for MNIST. But I don't understand the MNIST format or how to create this type database from .jpg images.

you can create the mnist like dataset using coding. please find the attachment and run the file convert-images-to-mnist-format.py .
first you have to uncompress this zip file and then run convert-images-to-mnist-format.py file . one more thing before running the inside the folder two folder exists that is training_images and test_images . you can past your training inages into the training_images folder and test images into test_images folder..

MNIST dataset includes handwritten images with 28x28 size.
For easy understanding, you can make a row in database for one image.
One image (28x28) is converted into one row with 784 (28x28) columns.
Each column represents each pixel in a image. and the value is simple grayscale intensity.
I already create an image dataset with 28x28 size. But I want to know how to read image like MNIST dataset read in any machine learning sample code.
