If you make a solution of indium chloride in methanol and burn it on a glass dish, there should be deep-blue flame. However, this characteristic flame color only arises at the high temperature of a Bunsen burner, which cannot be used with the glass dish.
Do you know a way of achieving the blue flame by burning some metal-salt at lower temperatures, so that a blue fire tornado can be created above the glass dish?
Is this going to be just a party trick / educational experiment or are you actually trying to achieve something scientific with it? Because this sounds like a project that's going to be rather popular on youtube. (Speaking of which: I assume you have already checked the respective channels for home-made pyrotechnics?)
Using a more heat-resistant glass dish is not an option?
I mean, using metal salts for achieving a colored flame is hardly new, for example here's a table of elements and colors:

However, these won't give you a tornado. At least not in any kind of safe fashion. (I vaguely remember doing some of those experiments at school. We were warned that using amounts of material that might actually look fun and interesting is not a good idea. We just got tiny flames that turned some color for half a second.) Actually, I don't think you want a tornado with specks of burning metal salt flying around! Not even a small one.

In itself that looks like a very nice experiment (and I would have loved to see it in class!), however, getting the flame to be blue for more than a quarter of a second is going to be really difficult. You'd need a kind of steady feed for the metal salt into the flame - and that on a rotating platform. And a safety mechanism that keeps burning grains of metal salt from rising with the flame, because you will have some air turbulence there, so the shown wire cylinder is maybe (...probably...) not going to be enough. My gut feeling says that repeating the shown experiment as is, just with metal salt added, might be a bit dangerous. (I, personally, would not volunteer to do it.) A good question for engineers.
