Good morning, I refer to the PV grid-following converter units being controlled in P-Q mode. I just compare them to conventional synchronous generators. These latter are off-loaded when first sync to the grid and once they have successfully connected, they start to gradually increasing the delivered load until reaching their rating.
I wonder whether PV GFC units have a similar procedure to avoid delivering full load immediately upon sync, mainly to avoid a high in-rush current into the grid.

The end stage of pv generator is the inverter unit. It is normally out power controlled such that it injects a predetermined in the grid. One can even gradually increase such power to reach its steady sate value.
