How to conduct the meta-genomic analysis of soil microbial community?

I'm working in the field of microbiology. Soil contain number of culturable and unculturable microbiota. As per my knowledge, to confirm the microbial diversity in soil the meta-genomic analysis is the only tool that can help to confirm soil microbial community. Now I'm looking for how to conduct the meta-genomic analysis experiment? Which software I should prefer to meta-genomic analysis. Please suggest me relevant literature, videos and freely accessible software that can help to conduct this experiment.
