It depends on a plex you're using at 1-4 levels OSI. Could you provide a little bit more details? How nodes are comunicate? Do you need it on permanent basis or at once? What is possible delay between traffic event and its count?

Try using iperf tool, it can get you the relevant KPIs you need.
