The other day, one of my lecturers reminded us (me and my friends) to be more careful in making a research claim. I guess it falls down on how we should interpret the result of our research. So, can someone gives me tips on how to carefully interpret the result of my research so that I could be careful in making my research claim?

This is a really broad question. I'll start a response here. One key rule is to always recognize the chance of measurement error, which can be due to any of a host of potentially confounding factors for a given study. For this reason, we never say that we have "proven" anything. Our results may substantiate a finding but they don't prove it.
