I am looking for simple steps to evaluate/calculate the reliability of a microgrid with renewable energy(solar/wind), battery and conventional generations.
It would be a great help for me if I could get any suitable article, book chapter, website or any other form of support.
There are a lot of different parameters in lictature that evaluate the reliability of renewable energy power sources. One of the most common is the capacity factor:
C.F=(Energy production in a year)/(Prated of power source*8760hours)

Well, let me ask a simple question. Are you aware of an algorithm which can calculate the reliability of a system where multiple sources are required to meet the load? I mean considering the load power and generation capacity.

It depends what measure of reliability you want to use. A very common measure is the "availability" of a system - i.e. what fraction of the time is it performing/available to perform at it specified/intended level.
A useful way of estimating the availability of a complex system made up of many components, each of which have their own failure rates, and maintenance times once they break, is a Monte Carlo analysis / simulation. See for example a paper linked which I do such an analysis for a wave energy generator.
This will give you a good estimate (assuming your input assumptions are good) of the overall/long-term average availability. This may or may not be a useful measure of reliability for you.

I am actually thinking to measure the reliability/ availability of the system for different operation strategies.
